The Grammy’s are upon us and we all know what that means. Predictions. Who’s going to win big at the awards show this year? We can already tell that Adele and Beyonce will probably take home a few. Will country artists Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini take home the prize? Our bets are also on Ariana Grande for best vocal performance. But it is the GRAMMY’s and we just never know who will win. But until then, here are our predictions and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for all the best Grammy coverage!
Album of the year:
• “25” — Adele
• “Lemonade” — Beyoncé
• “Purpose” — Justin Bieber
• “Views” — Drake
• “A Sailor’s Guide to Earth” — Sturgill Simpson
Predictions: Lemonade – Beyoncé
While 25 is an incredible album vocally, Lemonade is the real winner here. It’s not only an album, but it’s iconically one of the best visually that we’ve ever seen. It’s obvious that this one is pinned up against either Adele or Beyonce. May the best woman win.
Record of the year:
• “Hello” — Adele
• “Formation” — Beyoncé
• “7 Years” — Lukas Graham
• “Work” — Rihanna featuring Drake | Review
• “Stressed Out” — Twenty One Pilots
Predictions: “Hello” – Adele
It’s a no brainer who will take the crown in this category. While Beyonce is in a close second, Adele will rip the rug right from under her. This year, it could possibly be an Adele sweep.
Song of the year:
• “Formation” — Khalif Brown, Asheton Hogan, Beyoncé Knowles & Michael L. Williams II, songwriters (Beyoncé)
• “Hello” — Adele Adkins & Greg Kurstin, songwriters (Adele)
• “I Took a Pill In Ibiza” — Mike Posner, songwriter (Mike Posner)
• “Love Yourself” — Justin Bieber, Benjamin Levin & Ed Sheeran, songwriters (Justin Bieber)
• “7 Years” — Lukas Forchhammer, Stefan Forrest, Morten Pilegaard & Morten Ristorp, songwriters (Lukas Graham)
Predictions: “Hello” – Adele
This category honors the song as written, rather than the recording, beats or rhythm. Nevertheless, this means that Adele will take the prize. Sorry, Beyonce but you’ll have to sit this one out.
New artist:
• Kelsea Ballerini
• The Chainsmokers
• Chance the Rapper
• Maren Morris
• Anderson .Paak
Predictions: Maren Morris
Maren does have some stiff competition here. After all, there is another country artist (Kelsea Ballerini) in the same category. The Chainsmokers could possibly take this award from her, but our bet is on Maren. She’s killed the music game this year by making history and creating hit after hit after hit. She has a sold out headlining tour and not to mention, she was the only country artist to represent on Saturday Night Live this past fall. She’s slaying the game, and dominating with 3 other nominations for the night.
Pop vocal album:
• “25” — Adele
• “Purpose” — Justin Bieber
• “Dangerous Woman” — Ariana Grande
• “Confident” — Demi Lovato
• “This Is Acting” — Sia
Predictions: 25– Adele or Dangerous Woman – Ariana Grande
We simply can’t choose who will win this category. Both of these albums are rock solid when it comes to vocal performance. If Adele and Ariana were in a singing competition, we aren’t sure would win. While, we think Adele could reign victorious, we’re hopeful that maybe Ariana will surprise everyone and sweep the prize.
Rock album:
• “California” — Blink-182
• “Tell Me I’m Pretty” — Cage the Elephant
• “Magma” — Gojira
• “Death of a Bachelor” — Panic! at the Disco
• “Weezer” — Weezer |
Predictions: Tell Me I’m Pretty – Cage the Elephant
It’s safe to say that Blink, Panic or Weezer will not take home this prize. The competition is between Gojira and Cage the Elephant. Cage’s last album was nominated in the alternative category last year, and this year, they’re likely to sweep this category.
Country solo performance:
• “Love Can Go to Hell” — Brandy Clark
• “Vice” — Miranda Lambert
• “My Church” — Maren Morris
• “Church Bells” — Carrie Underwood
• “Blue Ain’t Your Color” — Keith Urban
Predictions: “Blue Ain’t Your Color” – Keith Urban
While there is stiff competition here, only two songs in this category have made radio and chart history. That is “My Church” and “Blue Ain’t Your Color”. “My Church” is an incredible performance but we can’t deny the success “Blue Ain’t Your Color” has had this year. The lyrics are phenomenal and the classy/vintage sound is timeless. Keith deserves this win.
Rap album:
• “Coloring Book” — Chance the Rapper
• “And the Anonymous Nobody” — De La Soul
• “Major Key” — DJ Khaled
• “Views” — Drake
• “Blank Face LP” — Schoolboy Q
• “The Life of Pablo” — Kanye West
Predictions: Views – Drake
We can’t even apologize to Kanye for this. Can we? Views is a bit long, but it produced hit after hit, which will stick with voters. Not to mention, he’s got catchy beats and his signature style is undeniable. With that, he’ll more than likely take the award home.

Country album:
• “Big Day In a Small Town” — Brandy Clark
• “Full Circle” — Loretta Lynn
• “Hero” — Maren Morris
• “A Sailor’s Guide to Earth” — Sturgill Simpson
• “Ripcord” — Keith Urban
Predictions: Hero – Maren Morris or Ripcord – Keith Urban
Tour mates Maren Morris and Keith Urban go head to head once again. They both have timeless albums that have helped break down barriers in the genre that no album has been able to do since Taylor Swift’s Fearless. Not only that, but both albums have charted at No.1 and again, have made history. We would love to see Keith take home this award for the spirit and lyrical content of the album but Maren, who beats out Keith with one more nomination could take this award home due to hits like “My Church,” and “80’s Mercedes”.“
