R&B singer/songwriter Gourdan Banks can pat himself on the back for scoring his first No.1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs Chart with his song “Keep You In Mind”. It’s thanks to music industry guys like producer Roy Hamilton III that helped Banks get his start.
It’s thanks to music industry guys like producer and mentor Roy Hamilton III that helped Banks get his start. “Roy Hamilton III inspired me to make what I have available work for me and to never pursue opportunities but create them”, he tells us. Hamilton certainly has helped Banks along the way, and perhaps he’s the one to thank for his first No.1.
“Keep You In Mind” is Banks first ever charting song, and has continued a steady climb all year in competition with Johny Gill’s four-week crowning song “This One’s for Me and You”. This is quite the accomplishment for Banks, and we are sure it will continue.
As a songwriter, Banks has penned several R&B hits including, “Trust and Believe” by Keyshia Cole and John Legend’s “Who Do We Think We Are”. Both songs have peaked on the Billboard charts. As an artist, Banks was featured on 50 Cent’s 2014 track “Winner’s Circle”. The track spent a week at No.46 on the Rap Digital Songs Chart.
