With infectious and arousing rhythm and melodies, Goodboy Noah is undeniably an artist to watch and keep on your radar.
The Canadian native dropped his newest single “Uptight” on Wednesday, co-written and produced by Micah Gordon (Cautious Clay, Neon Trees). A catchy and sassy single, Noah talks about being with a partner who is never pleased, not only affecting him but others, “I took some inspo from one of my past relationships in the line “you got mad up on my birthday.” Cuz she really did get all mean and mad for no reason, and I was like “what the heckfire?” Put simply, a significant other who is “a stick in the mud.” Accompanied with the single, was the release of another comedic music video as Noah takes us back to the Old West with an eventful duel. As always, Noah never takes himself too seriously in videos bringing them to life with his manager, “We say to ourselves, how can we make me look as stupid as possible without ruining my hopes of becoming an RnB legend. It’s a really fine line, but I think we walk it well. We like to conceptualize our videos around different movie genres or tropes, and have already schemed up the next few. Can’t wait. Also shout out to our costume guy Shon Le Blanc. A true legend.”
“Uptight” follows his latest singles “Dial Tone” and “Tie Down” all from his upcoming EP set for release this summer. Working with a multitude of writers, including the likes of, Jake Torrey (BTS, Liam Payne, Andy Grammer), Dan Henig (ZAYN, Noah Cyrus, Chelsea Cutler), and Sacco (Peach Tree Rascals, Connor Matthews), there is no doubt this EP is going to be your summer go-to.
As for what you might feel listening to Noah’s music, Noah has an answer that will for sure make you need to check his music out.
“I want people to feel like they just ate their dream meal, and they’re full, but not that full. So when they get the desert menu, they’re really excited about it and take their time to choose the perfect selection for the table. But they don’t check yelp to see what people are saying is the best one, because they know whatever they choose is gonna slap. And when they finish and go home, they keep thinking about the whole dining experience. And then they come back again the next week. And pretty soon they’re regulars. But everyone knows that the restaurant business goes in waves. So at some point down the line, the restaurant goes into a little bit of a slump. But they keep coming in every week, because they love the food and the people so much. And then the rent is raised on the building where the restaurant is, and the owners can’t afford to pay it. But by now, the regulars are extremely wealthy from their app they started that tells you exactly when you’re gonna poop next so you can plan for it. So they go into business with the owners and save them from losing the restaurant. They renovate the interior and all of a sudden people are flooding back in and it’s the talk of the town. Cuz the food has always been good.”
Goodboy Noah not only has glorious talent, but a fun and exciting personality that you can’t help adding him to your list of favorite R&B artists.
