GRAMMY-winning songwriter Tim Atlas is currently on tour in the United States. He’s playing a number of songs from his latest LP Enchanté, which is a combination of two EPs: 2023’s Le Soir and 2024’s Matinee. Coming up on April 25, Enchanté will get the deluxe edition treatment and be re-released with a number of b-sides and remixes.
Right now Atlas’ tour is going well. The musician has fans coming out in droves, excited to cheer him on during an all-around artistic evening of song, multi-instrumentalism and a light show choreographed by Atlas himself.
There are opportunities to see Atlas on the East Coast and in Texas as the tour carries on. Scroll down to find a full list of live performances and cities Atlas is playing in. Ticket information is available at this link. Listen to Enchanté here.
Get To Know Tim Atlas:
Beyond The Stage: Your Record Enchanté has been out for nearly a year. How are you enjoying its success, and what can fans expect from the upcoming deluxe edition?
Tim Atlas: It’s been good. We broke the record up into two EPs and then carried out the full-length album. This tour gives me an opportunity to revisit a lot of songs. People like to embrace some of the new songs and I like to be nostalgic with everyone when playing some of my older tunes.
The deluxe edition has lots of remixes. I chose pretty much everyone who remixed a song. Most of those people are my friends. Raphael Futura, he’s on the song “Lifeboat” and he said “Hey, I made this remix.” I thought “Let’s put it out!” Then slenderbodies just did a remix. We did a tour together four months ago and we have a song together. It’s nice to have homies all over the record.
BTS: How’s tour and life on the road been these past few weeks?
Tim Atlas: Tour is really fun. It could be very exhausting to be quite honest. Like, let’s just be real about that. It’s not an easy task to travel the country in a bus or in a van. But, when you play shows and people are singing the songs back to you and talking about their experiences with those songs, it’s a blast. I’ve been meeting people at every show and it’s just been really wonderful to have a very human experience with everyone.
BTS: What differentiates your studio work from seeing your live show?
Tim Atlas: I program my own lights and and create my own projections and visuals. That makes a live show a little more experiential. It also sheds some light on how the record was intended to be listened to. The album is called Enchanté, but the first EP was called Le Soir which means “at night.” The next EP was Matinee, which represented the day. Enchanté is the full scope of everything. We reflect that in the performance. I also have a killer band and they’re just so good. One member is a flute player as well, so we’ve replaced some guitar solos with flute solos. It’s really fun to reinvent some of the songs that have been out for almost a decade.
BTS: You recently won a GRAMMY Award for songwriting. Can you talk about your career as a professional songwriter and what that award means to you?
Tim Atlas: Pretty insane, right? It goes to show that you never know when this kind of stuff is gonna fall into your lap and you never know when it’s gonna happen. When people embark on a musical career or a musical journey, it’s not super linear. Everyone has different timelines and it does feel like I’ve been at this for a long time, but at the same time it also feels like I’m just getting started. Especially on the songwriter front. When I quit my first job, I was producing and writing for local bands. I just moved back to Los Angeles a couple months ago, and I did that to capitalize on writing and production.

BTS: It could be argued that LA actually is the best place in the United States for musicians right now. There’s a lot of good work coming out of LA.
Tim Atlas: LA seems to be the place to do that because everyone is there. I definitely stay busy. I was in New York for a little under four years. I had built a community out there. Though, I’m kind of a self-sustaining artist. I like to produce my own stuff. You can totally do that anywhere, but as a producer and songwriter, it just felt like this was the natural progression. I think LA is the looming city for every musician and creative.
BTS: What will you work on once this tour wraps up?
Tim Atlas: Honestly, after this tour, I’m going to sink my teeth into a TV show that has hour-long episodes and six seasons. I’m gonna be doing more co-writing sessions. I’m giving myself grace to marinate in that and figure out what the next major project is. You don’t wanna just put out songs for the sake of it. It has to be deeper than that.
