At a young age, Richie Nuzz knew music would be apart of his life. From an early start of playing the trombone, Richie was also inspired by certain types of music. “Jazz and classical have always been a big part of my upbringing. Singing was just something I always did and grew to love.” Richie is a true talent and you can hear the powerful emotion in his voice when he sings.
Every artist hopes to establish a certain sound when it comes to making music and Richie described his in a way most don’t, which makes him very unique. “Pop/R&B/Alt with a taste of trombone. I love being able to cross into EDM and electronic vibes as well.”
When you listen to his new single “Bad Habits” you can hear those genres in the track.
We asked Richie to tell us a little about his new single “Bad Habits,” which is available on all streaming sites now. “I was living in Los Angeles and “Bad Habits” is a reflection of my life there. Seeking fake gratification and searching for happiness and fulfillment in the wrong places. Finding true love allowed me to start looking in the right places and to rebuild my life into something I can be proud of.” Being proud of who you are and the way you’re living your life is important and it seems that Richie has accomplished that.
Writing songs that come from the heart are what any great song writer hopes to accomplish, being able to create a raw emotion filled song is important among other things as well. Richie listed off a few things when it comes to writing and inspiration for songs. “Usually pain and struggle are great motivators in writing new songs. I would say the everyday experiences that we live in help write the lyrics. I like to write with my team and it’s whenever inspiration comes.. sometimes that’s during the day in the studio or on the late night train home.” There are also major artists he is influenced by, to name a few: Jon Bellion, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, and Timbaland. With that being said, we can’t wait to hear more music from Richie and see what his future music will be sounding like.
When an artist has a platform there is always a message that they hope to convey, for Richie it was easy,
“I hope to convey realness so I can inspire and touch as many as I can. I’d like to think my music relates to feelings we all share and can relate to.”
In the future, Richie hopes to collaborate with Kygo and sees himself touring and creating music for people to love and party to. Even one day, hopefully performing on The Ellen Show. As far as a venue he dreams of performing at, Coachella, or anywhere with a crowd of people who are open to new experiences and we love that outlook.
Richies single “Bad Habits” is available on all streaming sites now and be sure to keep an eye out for the release of his EP titled “Bad Habits.”
