- Can you introduce yourself to those who may not know you?
Hey there! I’m Tyson and I sing and slap the bass in Crooked Teeth!
- How would you describe your music to people who have never heard it before?
We’re a three piece Alternative Rock band from California. We dig bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Deftones and Third Eye Blind so if you dig those bands it’s highly likely that you’d enjoy us as well!
- What are you looking forward to most for the rest of 2018?
We’re super stoked to get these new songs out, close the year out with some rock shows and work on new music to take into 2019!
- Who are your musical influences?
Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Deftones, Green Day, Slipknot, Tom Petty, The Maine, Third Eye Blind, The Cure, Blink 182 just to name a few!
- What about nonmusical influences?
Oh man. Tom Segura, Jeff Goldblum, Aubrey Plaza, Bernie Sanders, Mark Hamill, Chelsea Handler, Ellen, just to name a few.
- What do you hope fans get from your music?
I hope they find some solace in the lyrics and can bang their damn heads to the music. Ultimately I hope it takes the listener to a better place……like the front row of our shows.
- What can you tell us about your single, “Hate Me”?
The song was written about pressing on with a positive spirit in the wake life/people/circumstances trying to knock down the spirit. It’s a song about killing negative situations with kindness.
- What can you tell our readers about your upcoming album release, Honey?
It’s five songs chalk full of heartfelt lyrics, big hooks and sick riffs!
- What is your writing and recording process like?
It always varies to be honest. I’m not always home or around a guitar so I often find myself just singing random melodies that come to mind or pulling over to jot down some lyrics that I think stick out. As for recording, typically myself or a producer will present an idea to us and we just rip it apart until we think it’s the best it can be. We recorded the first song for ‘Honey’ after a tour last fall and finished recording the record just before leaving for a tour this spring but again the process is never completely conventional or consistent.
- What is something that you’ve accomplished so far in your career that you are most proud of?
Gracing the friggin airwaves by way of KROQ and BBC1. Our goal since day 1 has been to take this as far as we can and reach as many new fans as possible while not pigeonholing ourselves in any subculture so to see the song make waves via radio is just insane and so unbelievably flattering.

Oat Milk Vanilla Latte, baby!
- What is your current favorite song?

- What was the first concert you went to?
Good Charlotte/New Found Glory/Mxpx in 2003!
- What is your favorite movie?
Jurassic Park

Holy fuck that’s hard.
