ALXNDR is a alt-pop group from Newcastle, England. Best known for their single “Four A.M.,” which received more than 25,000 views on YouTube in just 24 hours, ALXNDR is just about to hit the road again. With their EP, RWND, coming out on Friday, we chatted with the band to learn a little bit more about Anth, Drew and James, if they prefer One Direction over Justin Bieber and what influenced their new music.

BTS: Introduce yourselves and your role in the band
ALXNDR: I’m Anth and I’m on Vox/Guitar. Drew is here with me, he’s our drummer and James isn’t with us (RIP)…just messin he’s okay, just not here.
BTS: How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard it before?
ALXNDR: World wind of emotions and nostalgic lust. Do you believe in time travel?
What kind of music would you say influenced ALXNDR’s sound?
We love movie soundtracks so we are massively into writing based on our emotions and personal life scenes.
Is there an environment that ALXNDR prefers to write in?
We love writing together in our own homes and studios. We do a lot of send backs to each other and elaborate on ideas together wherever we are!
What song are you most excited to play live from your debut EP?
Can’t wait to blast our new single YOU&ME out on tour! Think I’m gonna lose my sh%# on stage in the bridge.
Can you tell us a little more about RWND and the recording process?
We’ve written and recorded the tracks from RWND over the past year and released them consecutively. They were all recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by ourselves at my own home studio up here in the north east! We are actually super proud of the work we have put into these tracks and love the process of doing it ourselves!
What makes you the most nervous about releasing RWND?
We’re feeling pretty relaxed about it to be honest! Quite a few people have already heard these tracks and we’ve had the support and reassurance from our fans over the year. We’re just exited to release this as one solid EP to push out there to many more people!
If you could plan your dream tour, who would be on it?

Queen
That’d be a right mash up, but sick.
What’s your dream venue?
The Nokia Theatre in LA is definitely one of them!
If you found a magic lamp and each band member was granted 3 wishes, what would they be?
Anths wish: For someone to tell me if tupac is alive or not. Need to know man.
Drews wish: To live in southern Cali and surf the beach every morning
James’ wish: he isn’t here but I’m sure he’d wish for a date with Shania Twain or Sandra Bullock.
What’s next for ALXNDR after RWND comes out?
TOUR BABY! And writing, lots of writing!
What’s the top played song on your iPod that might surprise your other band members?
Anth: Hail Mary, Makaveli
Drew: I missed again, Phil Collins
James: Shania Twain probably! Not much of a surprise though.
If you played in a different genre, what would it be and why?
HIP HOP, but I can’t rap…so maybe blues
