Fletcher dropped a surprise new song called “Bitter” last night. The song’s attitude and pettiness paired with R&B beat (which will make you bounce in your seat) make it the perfect progression for Fletcher. Along with the song’s release last night, Fletcher took to Instagram to tell fans about how she wrote the song with one of her good friends from college. finished the production with Kito over FaceTime, and filmed the music video while quarantining with her family in New Jersey.
In addition to releasing “Bitter,” Fletcher also dropped the music video for the song. It shows a chaotic mix of shots of her eating fruits, pouring honey on herself, drinking champagne, and eating lollipops. The video was filmed by her longtime collaborator Shannon Beveridge and directed by Tess Bjiere. There’s a some chaotic energy to the video, but it perfectly captures the attitude of the song and was perfectly executed (especially given the current circumstance).
Over the last 18 months, Fletcher has continued to make waves in music. In 2019, she made a massive splash with her single “Undrunk,” which has amassed almost 99 million streams on Spotify. The song even earned her the #16 spot on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart at the beginning of April last year. The song landed a spot on her second EP, you ruined new york city for me, which was released last September via Capitol Records.
“Bitter” by Fletcher is now available on all streaming platforms. Check out the video below!
