On June 10th, Pharrell Williams released his single “Cash In Cash Out,” featuring three of the most iconic male artists of present day. And just in time for the summer! In contrast to some of his hit songs, “Happy,” or “Get Lucky,” Pharrell did not contribute vocally to his single. Instead, he created the instrumentals. Taking on lead vocals were Tyler, the Creator and 21 Savage. It has been since 2021 since all three artists have released any new projects, and fans could not be more excited.
For Pharrell and Tyler, the Creator, this was not their first experience collaborating. Pharrell was featured in Tyler, the Creator’s album, “Wolf,” back in 2013. The two artists evidently kept touch in their relationship and ultimately decided to rekindle for Pharrell’s newest project. 21 Savage, on the other hand, has had a history of working with other infamous artists, so his collaboration with Pharrell was a long time coming.
The music video itself is an entertaining watch. Produced by DIVISION, the video tends to each of the artist’s specific styles, personalities and creativity which is animated in claymation figure style.
Making a debut in 2003, Pharrell has been hustling for almost two decades while establishing himself as a veteran in the music industry. The inspirational artist has had an impact on the world of hip-hop, rap, pop-music, and every genre in between. Known as not only an artist, but also producer, the hard-working artist received a Grammy for producer of the year on three separate occasions. Working with other exceptional artists such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Draft Punk while maintaining solo projects, Pharrell has proven to be one of the most well-rounded multitaskers in the music industry.
