Pop queen Ellie Goulding shared the music video for her brand new single “Flux” this evening. The song is taken from Goulding’s forthcoming fourth album, which is set to be released later this year. “Flux” is a step in a different direction for Goulding – instead of her typical up-tempo electro-dance songs, it’s far more stripped back and is flooded with a sweeping piano arrangement and gorgeous string arrangement. As both the song and video premiered, Goulding took to Twitter to share with fans that the song is about finding it hard to let go of a past love, even though the relationship ended for a reason.
The music video for “Flux” is entirely black and white (to match the single artwork), and is filled with stunning visuals. Throughout the video, it shows Goulding in a vulnerable state. From laying covered in bedsheets to sitting at a piano in an empty room. The vulnerability paired with the contrast of the black and white fits the song so well. It captures the sound and emotion in the song perfectly.
