Creators Brett Herman and Timothy Monkiewicz have put an innovative twist on music festivals, bringing a unique experience that attendees won’t ever forget.
We sat down with Herman to get all the exciting details about Elements Music & Art Festival. He wanted to create a “greater canvas that gives people a sense of possibility by opening their hearts and minds,”. This idea has evolved overtime, beginning as a 1-day waterfront festival in NY. In 2017, it turned into a 3-day camping experience.
The festival occurs outside the Poconos Raceway in the Woodlands from August 19 to 22, with early arrivals on the 18th. It primarily exhibits electronic and house music with different stages, most of which are named after the four elements.
“The Fire Stage has more upbeat music, while the Earth Stage has more of a bass and jam focus. For more of a deep house vibe, you can visit the Air Stage and lastly, the Water Stage is more funky disco for daytime parties.”
The lineup is their biggest one yet, featuring acts like FISHER, Sofi Tukker and Kascade. Herman shared that there are an additional 10 stages that they haven’t released the lineup for yet.
Aside from the music, the festival offers many other gems to enhance your experience in the woods – an important one being their wellness area called the “Healing Garden”. This area features yoga workshops and a plethora of activities, with lots of space. Herman also urges guests to keep an eye out for hidden experiences such as art installations and surprise performances.
“Elements gives you a full plate of non-music options to keep you busy.”
The festival goes into the night, offering a late-night experience, as well. One of the many activities to experience is “Frick Frack Blackjack” – a game where you can bring old items to trade and win better things by playing blackjack.
Additionally, there will be many food vendors, which Herman and Monkiewicz are still confirming. “We are happy to announce Island Noodles will be there; they are very much a fan favorite,” Herman shared. Poconos Raceway also has their own organic farm which will provide the food vendors with “super fresh produce” – Herman looks forward to eating there every time.
A concern of some would be the safety precautions which we discussed with Herman. “Guest health was absolutely part of the process,” Herman explains. He assured that a full medical team will be present on site, as well as harm reduction services. “It is important that our guests party safely, and we are there to support everybody.” Guests will have access to all amenities, as well (ie. bathrooms).
The campgrounds are “incredibly convenient and gorgeous”, allowing driving access right up to the site. Car camping is permitted, as well as Glamping and RV options. Local hotels are also available for those who prefer that route. Herman shares, “If you’re not the camping type, don’t worry we got you covered.”
Elements Music & Art Festival is truly an experience you won’t want to miss. Herman and Monkiewicz hope to “make life feel more like a festival” for all those that attend, giving them unforgettable memories to bring back home.
“We don’t want this to just be an escapist event. We want people to learn and grow as humans – and have the best weekend on earth.”
