Brooklyn brothers Abner and Harper James have returned to the scene, bringing a new single that’s sure to give all the feels.
“Heart on the Line” is an intimate song with raw lyrics and a catchy melody. It tells the story of a rocky relationship, and the decision to fight through it or split up. The duo wanted their single to be personal and vulnerable, and it’s safe to say they have succeeded.
Abner sings, “Now I’m all choked up/ And now I can’t sleep/ Are we falling in love/ Or apart at the seams?/ Maybe we can’t know/ Maybe love is the same as belief,” allowing listeners to feel the struggle.
Eighty Ninety is known for their heartfelt lyrics tied with acoustic instruments and an electronic sound. The two work on production together, and let the storytelling arc determine the instruments and sounds used.
The duo has been racking up streams since their 2016 single “Three Thirty” and debut EP Elizabeth. Their song “Your Favorite Song” even landed on Taylor Swift’s playlist Songs Taylor Loves, giving them more exposure.
Eighty Ninety gives us the warm hug we all could use with their gentle vocals and soft pop production. They encourage listeners to sit back and embrace the emotion of their songs. We sure can’t wait to sit back and embrace some more!
