At midnight, Cynthia Nabozny, known as Cyn shared her newest song “New York,” an ode to the city that never sleeps. With the single she also is selling merchandise to benefit the New York City’s Broadway covid relief organization, The Actors Fund. The “New York” sweatshirt will be available for purchase on her website on Friday.
Written with British singer, songwriter, and producer Jack Garratt, the single is a poignant love song to the big apple and to those who dream. Cyn shared her intentions of the song and what she hoped to spark in people.
“With my new song New York, I hope to inspire feelings of adventure and possibility, and even though times are uncertain, I aim to remind people that looking toward the future with optimism is still worth it,” Cyn said. “New York is a love song with an undeniable thread of possibility running through it, and I am so thrilled to share it with the world.”

“New York” follows Cyn’s previous single “Drinks” released back in March, as well as her stripped back songs from her EP Mood Swing (even moodier) released in September. “Drinks” is her first Top 40 Hit, peaking at 26, and had accumulated over five million streams on Spotify. The single is featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming thriller Promising Young Woman coming out on Christmas.

Mood Swing (even moodier) includes five re-imagined songs from her Mood Swing album from 2019. The new EP came two days short of the album’s one-year anniversary. Back in September, Cyn shared her excitement for the new release and some of her favorites from it.
“It’s been almost 1 year since I released my debut EP, Mood Swing” Cyn said. “It’s always a fun challenge to rethink songs that you’ve spent a lot of time with! I especially love these new versions of Angel & Nobody’s Keeping Score. Maybe even more than the originals! I can’t wait to hear what the Cynner’s think of these new versions as I prepare to release new, original music before the year is over.”
The original version of her song “I Can’t Believe” was included in the soundtrack for Netflix’s popular movie To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You. Released in February, her single “Lonely Gun” was also part of popular movie soundtrack, Birds of Prey.
As her popularity continues to grow and her music continues to make movie soundtracks and charts, Cyn is on the path to an extremely successful career. Hopefully, she gives us some more music before the year’s end!
