New York-based indie rock band The Commuters are releasing their brand new EP, “Before I Was Born”, on August 12th!. The band has given Beyond The Stage exclusive access to let their fans know what’s in store on this next EP – keep reading for our review!
Starting right off with the title track, The Commuters secure their unique style for the entire EP. “Before I Was Born” is a song that borders on anthem-like in its declaration. It’s something that’s come straight out of the late-90’s indie era and been twisted with the high energy that 2016 listeners are looking for.
The rest of the EP continues along that same high energy level and comes to a clean close with the ballad “You’ll Stay Right Here”. Although much slower and softer than the other three tracks, this final song keeps The Commuters signature sound while maintaining their listener’s interest. A well rounded set of songs, “Before I Was Born” is an EP that’s on the track to success. Fans old and new will be anything but disappointed, so keep an ear out next week for the official release on August 12th. But until then, watch the lyric video for “Before I Was Born” and follow the band on Twitter, Facebook and Soundcloud.
