For the first time in three years, Capitol Hill Block Party is set to return to Seattle this summer. Named one of USA Today’s Best Music Festivals, Capitol Hill Block Party has taken over Seattle’s eclectic Capitol Hill neighborhood every summer for over two decades. After being forced to cancel their 2020 and 2021 plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2022 will finally mark the triumphant return of the festival.
The recently announced 2022 Capitol Hill Block Party lineup is arguably one of the festival’s most daring and exciting yet – and that’s saying something. DJ extraordinaire Diplo, pop boundary-pusher Charli XCX, and the blissful electronic stylings of Jai Wolf are set to headline the weekend, each of whom are known for high-energy live performances and knowing how to captivate a crowd. They also – like many of the artists on the lineup – are often known to challenge conventionality with their music, seeking to push forward and elevate their respective genres.
Other notable acts who fit this description include zany hyperpop duo 100 gecs, the poppy and bombastic Remi Wolf, multitalented rapper and producer IDK, and New Zealand rockers The Beths. Continually, artists like Tkay Maidza, Magdalena Bay, Dempsey Hope, Chloe Moriondo, and Todd Zack Jr. will also get their turns to showcase their distinct points of view under the Seattle summer sun.
