If you’re like most of us right now, you’re probably planning some big road trips for the very near future. Whether it’s driving an entire coast to get home from school or just across town to see some welcoming faces this holiday season, we’ve got you covered. Keep on reading to see more about our 2016 Travel Playlist and keep an eye out for the full playlist below. Safe travels!
- Morning in America – Jon Bellion
There’s nothing that quite matches the excitement and energy of an early morning roadtrip. This track off of Bellion’s latest album, The Human Condition, combines the obvious relevance in its title, but also a bass line that will get your day started quicker than any cup of coffee.
- Born to Run – Bruce Springsteen
No matter when you were born, there’s something universally sound about hearing the opening bars of this song. So get ready to hit the road and keep those spirits high for the trip you have ahead with this classic hit.
- Drive – The Cars
Staying on track with some major throwbacks, we come to our first “Drive” track. Throughout the playlist you’ll find section breakers with songs titled “Drive” by different artists from multiple eras. To take us into a more mellow section two, we’ve got a song that keeps up the energy without being too in your face. Keep on truckin’ y’all!
- West Virginia – The Front Bottoms
Moving your mind up the east coast a bit, we’ve got one of the most definitive tracks from The Front Bottoms. Let the heartfelt, friendship-heavy lyrics keep you in check with whatever it is you have to look forward to at the end of the drive. And wherever you’re going, just know we all have our own West Virginia.
- Paris – The 1975
And who says you have to stay in the states this season?! Let yourself go abroad for a moment with one of our favorite songs from “i like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it”. After the high energy contained in most of this playlist, rounding out the last section with a relaxing synth-bop might be exactly what you need.
- Comin’ Home – City and Colour
And finally. The moment everyone in the car has been waiting for since Jon Bellion was first blasting through your speakers. Finishing up the home stretch – literally – of your trip comes a song as warm and welcoming as the place you’re about be. So sit back for these last few minutes, and have a relaxing break! You deserve it!
