Live at Trace Horse Studio, singer-songwriter Bre Kennedy showcases a studio performance of her song, “Control.” It’s a more acoustic and stripped-down rendition of the single. She went on social media to say that this is her favorite song to perform live.
She released the single on June 18 and it has quickly become a fan favorite. It’s a soft pop song that explores her fear of losing control over her life, something that we can all relate to. That is evident as “Control” garnered an impressive 301.7K streams on Spotify.
Kennedy even dived into the process behind the making of the song on Instagram.
The song comes after the release of her last single, “Wilburn Street.” In contrast to “Control,” it’s a much lighter and upbeat pop song that spreads the message of moving on and simply living life.
In 2020, she dropped her second EP, Twenty Something. It’s a seven-track project filled with notable highlights such as “Whirlwind” and “Twenty Something,” which has over 1.9 million streams.
Bre Kennedy is a rising artist who has a style of songwriting that is so raw and authentic. Her music and style contain strong influences from the likes of Brandi Carlile and Fleetwood Mac. She’s also had the opportunity to open up for artists such as Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr. and Birdtalker.
2021 has been a good year for her so far and it’s only going to get better as she’s moving with some serious momentum. We’re looking forward to see what else she has waiting for us.
