Among the festivals we are most excited for is undoubtedly Napa Valley’s BottleRock music festival. That’s right, festival season is almost here and we’re more excited than ever! Much of our quarantine was spent dreaming about the return of live music and we can’t believe full blown festivals are almost upon us once again., which has an insanely stacked lineup of iconic performers. From classics to fresher faces, here are 7 must-see artists at this year’s BottleRock music festival:
1) Miley Cyrus
Need we say more? Miley Cyrus has been a staple of the entertainment industry for over half her life and she shows no signs of slowing down. She released her seventh album (that we’d call the best album of her career) late last year with Plastic Hearts, and we have no doubt that she’ll bring her rockstar charisma to the BottleRock stage. One of Saturday’s headliners, Miley Cyrus is sure to bring a huge crowd and rock the socks off of everyone in attendance.
2) Big Freedia
GIRL DOWN! Get ready to twerk because the queen of bounce is coming to BottleRock. Big Freedia is the essence of New Orleans bounce and has been bringing the genre to the mainstream for years. Freedia’s deep and sassy voice is instantly recognizable in songs like Drake’s “Nice For What” and in Beyoncé’s video for “Formation”, and her signature style will surely have all of BottleRock singing – and twerking – along.
3) Run the Jewels
A collaboration between hip-hop heavy hitters Killer Mike and El-P, Run the Jewels has been blowing minds of fans and critics alike since their Run the Jewels debut back in 2013. Since then, they have released three more studio albums – the latest of which has been named the best album of 2020 by publications like NME and Variety. The duo’s progressive and high-energy hip-hop will be a perfect fit for the BottleRock stage that we’re dying to see.
4) MUNA
Synth-pop trio MUNA lives in a world of heartbreak, with music that feels like pure joy. One second you’re crying on the bathroom floor, the next you’re screaming at the top of your lungs. Their song “I Know a Place” has become a staple of LGBTQ+ pride celebrations, and their most recent album Saves the World is a masterclass in the power of emotional pop. We’re counting down the days until we get to sing (and probably cry) with them at this year’s BottleRock.
5) Megan Thee Stallion
It wouldn’t be a hot girl summer without Megan the Stallion. Her ascent to rap royalty has been well deserved, with songs like “Big Ole Freak” “Savage” and “WAP” paving the way for her to become one of the most in demand names in hip-hop. She recently released her debut album Good News, and there’s no doubt the good news will continue when Meg hits the BottleRock stage as one of Sunday’s headliners.
6) Chromeo
Channeling 80’s electronica with their own funky flare, Canadian duo Chromeo has been making bright, bubbly, and undeniably funky tunes for close to two decades. The self proclaimed Funklordz have been on a hot streak as of late, with a quarantine EP titled Quarantine Casanova coming out last summer, and their first live album titled Date Night: Chromeo Live! having come out just a few days ago. They have funk to spare, and we can’t wait to see them bring it to the BottleRock stage.
7) Stevie Nicks
What is there to say about Stevie Nicks that hasn’t already been said? The final pick for our must-see list is an indisputable legend that has fronted one of the most successful bands of all time with Fleetwood Mac, and has released eight studio albums of her own. There aren’t many artists alive today that can rival what Stevie Nicks has accomplished in her career, and seeing her in the flesh is sure to be a moment that BottleRock attendees will never forget.
UPDATE: Stevie Nicks will no longer be performing at BottleRock. Chris Stapleton will be filling her spot.
While these seven artists are our must-see picks, there are countless other artists performing at the festival that will surely be incredible as well!
