Us music aficionados at Beyond The Stage are superfans behind the lens. That’s to say, we like taking photos of our favorite artists. The majority of content our team shares with readers is music photojournalism at its finest (at least we think so). Sure, we make news posts, write features and, of course, our New Music Friday column. But, what really brings our team together is photographing concerts across the world. We’re lucky to have a team based in many cities. It’s hard for a tour not to stop by our towns or a moment to not be captured by our lenses. This is all eventually passed onto our dear readers. To honor our awesome staff for their contributions to the music industry, plus the musicians we meet, here’s a compilation of the year 2024 in photos. Enjoy, and thank you to all the talented people who contribute to and visit our little musical slice of the internet.

Beyond The Stage’s Best Music and Concert Photos of 2024:
Mitski – New York, NY 2/28/24, Photos by Katherine Hui
All eyes were fixated on Mitski at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on the final evening of her 7 sold-out New York shows on her 2024 tour.
The crowd was buzzing, anticipating a spectacular night of beautiful theatrics, impressive vocals and playful banter. Mitski topped off her New York run with a victory lap of a performance, showcasing her versatility as an artist, creative director and dancer the entire night.
Maggie Rogers – Portland, OR 10/30/24, Photos by Blake Charles
In 2024, Maggie Rogers had her first ever headlining arena tour, supporting her third studio album Don’t Forget Me. “This tour feels like the end of a big circle” she said during her performance at Portland, Oregon’s Moda Center. The idea of closing a circle – or coming home – is a major theme of Don’t Forget Me and it radiated during the show.
Rogers’ voice is somehow even more breathtaking in person; for nearly two hours she sang a variety of songs from throughout her career with incredible passion. Whether singing something more upbeat like “Want Want” or a slower track like “All The Same,” she delivered jaw-dropping vocal performances time and time again.
The Veronicas – San Francisco 04/03/24, Photos by Joe Hernandez
The Veronicas kicked off their first tour in years in San Francisco, and fans welcomed the Australian pop sisters with a special night the duo likely won’t forget.
The Gothic Summer tour celebrated their newest album of the same name, an album they hadn’t intended on making but just happened when the duo met producer and artist John Feldmann for coffee. By the end of the day, they had written a handful of songs together.
The Veronicas took the stage by storm, delivering an 80 minute setlist that spanned their 20 year career. There was so much love in the room, the duo repeatedly got emotional and thanked every person for coming that night. Midway through the set, they talked about how they had a tour planned and didn’t think visas would go through. Then life happened, and then a pandemic happened. That was all in the past now, as they quickly moved from song to song and kept the upbeat momentum of the show going. Pausing only to take a short acoustic break to perform stripped down versions of songs like “Ribcage” and “Invisible.”
FINNEAS – Los Angeles, CA 10/04/24, Photos by Marlowe Teichman
Moments before the release of his sophomore album, For Cryin’ Out Loud!, FINNEAS took the stage last night at The Ford in Los Angeles, California to celebrate its release. FINNEAS was joined on stage by his closest friends, Miles Morris, Lucy Healy, Ricky Gourmet, David Marinelli, and Aron Forbes, to deliver an intimate, live performance for friends, family, fans, and his lawyer and doctor (if you know, you know).
The band, who were pivotal parts in creating the writing and the music of the album, opened the evening with the title track, “For Cryin’ Out Loud!” followed by other standout songs from the record “Cleats“, “What’s It Gonna Take To Break Your Heart?”, and “Little Window“. After two weeks of writing, their energy electrified the stage.
Remi Wolf – Austin, TX 10/11/24, Photos by Sydney Wisner
Remi Wolf took the Emo’s Austin stage on October 11, 2024 as part of an “ACL Nights” performance. Tacked onto her Big Ideas tour, Remi Wolf made a stop on Saturday of weekend two of Austin City Limits, but performed a night show the day before at Emo’s. ACL Nights makes it possible for folks to see acts coming through the festival without the full-weekend price tag.
The set began with a bang, opening with a fan favorite from her previous album “Juno”, Disco Man. Then right into the next banger, Cinderella from “Big Ideas”. Throughout the night she played everyone’s favorites, like Liz, Sexy Villain, Alone in Miami, and even a cover of Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts.
Knocked Loose – Chicago, IL 11/1/24, Photos by Ari Belleth
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to be caught in a storm of pure chaos and unrelenting energy, attending a Knocked Loose show is about as close as you can get to that experience. From the moment the lights drop and the opening riff of Thirst cuts through the air, you know you’re in for something special — and, frankly, dangerous.
The crowd? A whirlwind of bodies. From seasoned veterans to first-timers, everyone is there to lose themselves in the ferocity of Knocked Loose’s breakdowns and unrelenting riffs. From circle pits, to moshing, to crowd surfing, the entire floor of Aragon Ballroom was a sea of movement as security helped crowd surfer after crowd surfer back into the audience. Featuring a appeasing mix of songs off their newest record You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, they also made sure to include older classics such as Deadringer, Counting Worms, and Billy No Mates.
Hotline TNT – Minneapolis, MN 3/16/24, Photos by Ben Pagani
Hotline TNT hosted a show at an abandoned reservoir design and installation building called Flair Fountains in South Minneapolis on a Saturday night. Fans stuffed into this old fountain manufacturer to bang heads and literally rub elbows with one of the hottest rock bands around.
Hotline TNT was in the middle of a U.S. Tour supporting their new record Cartwheel. The band’s second studio LP has been widely regarded as the top sound in rock since its November 2023 release. This special show was a homecoming of sorts for Hotline TNT singer and guitarist Will Anderson, who once upon a time lived in Minneapolis. This was one of two DIY-type shows on the band’s ongoing tour. They played at Not Not in Chicago, IL the night before. These concerts were stripped down and a callback to how the band would have started playing. Show up, pay the suggested entry fee, nobody turned away for lack of funds and dance (in that order).
At Flair Fountains, fans climbed some of the ladders hanging alongside the walls to see one of the loudest bands touring the U.S. Others stood on chairs, leaned up against one of the many paper mâché figures propped on the floor or propelled from the wall. The bathroom was located behind the band. People had to wait in line while drummer Mike Ralston bashed on symbols.
FIDLAR – Carrboro, North Carolina 10/18/24, Photos by Saber Anne
Alongside their opening act, Sugar Pit, FIDLAR performed and gave North Carolina an engaging Friday night out. With smash hits such as “SOBER” and “No Waves,” FIDLAR gave every kind of fan something exciting to sing and mosh to. Carrboro showed up, and the crowd was extremely impressive and present. FIDLAR opened the show with “FIX ME” from their newest LP, Surviving the Dream, which started the night off right, and fans of the band were living for every moment. The entire venue was alive with a contagious energy that vibrated throughout the walls of Cats Cradle. The band members mentioned how much they adored Carrboro’s excited and present crowd during the show.
The Gaslight Anthem – Los Angeles 08/06/24, Photos by Marissa Sandoval
After a UK/EU tour and a few festivals, The Gaslight Anthem finally toured their latest album History Books across the US. The New Jersey natives made their way across the country to LA to play the historic Greek Theatre in Griffith Park.
While touring a new album, the now almost two decade old band has found the perfect mix of their new songs and classics that their fans who have been around the whole time want to hear and enjoy. Mixed within their classics and new songs was a cover of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘Soul to Squeeze’, a cover front man Brian Fallon explained was picked for the city they were playing in.
Music at the Intersection Festival 2024, Photos by Nicole Guillen
Day 1 of Music at the Intersection Festival concluded with Black Pumas, who genuinely knocked our socks off. Hearing “Colors” live, accompanied by remarkable guitar solos, was an unforgettable bucket list moment. Lead singer Eric Burton electrified the crowd with his incredible energy and stage presence.
