“it’s not u it’s me,” the latest release from former BTS cover star Bea Miller is all about self-love, putting yourself first and knowing your boundaries. Now, after just a little more than a month into the song’s release, Bea Miller and track collaborator, 6lack, released the music video for the song.
Filled with color and futuristic vibes, the video follows Bea as she journeys into the unknown world to put herself first. As she journeys into a new world, Bea’s colorful hair and outfit correspond perfectly with the video’s soft, colorful aesthetic.
Noted in the video’s description, Bea shared a note about the meaning of “it’s not u it’s me”.
i think sometimes it’s easy to lose yourself in other people, to do things for and with them that don’t represent who you are. there will always need to be compromise but this song is about crossing the line between helping someone else and hurting yourself, and recognizing that when you can’t be who you’re supposed to be around a specific person, it’s time to prioritize yourself.
