The Separation is definite this time — and it hurts. Ambivalent five-piece Balance And Composure from Doylestown, Pennsylvania have returned for a proper goodbye about a year after what most surmised as their last tour. The band will be hitting the same locations as then — New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania — as well as Colorado and California. Reactions have been mixed, ranging from mourning over the loss of a band that played a vital role in fourth wave emo, to looking forward to seeing the elusive band we thought was permanently gone already. “I thought I would be happy today about it but I’m kind of more sad,” wrote lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Simmons when asked about his feelings on the subject on Instagram. “It’ll be fun it’s just a little emotional for me.” Basically, this isn’t easy for anyone. The band did put out a statement explaining the inevitability and difficulty of their end, claiming that they have been piecing together an agreement, which is these shows and, thus far, nothing more.
As hard as it is, you better clear your schedules for the dates below. If you’ve seen Balance And Composure before, you know. If you haven’t, you will know. Their performance is never one to be missed, especially under these circumstances.
