Up-and-coming latin-pop artist Awgust released his debut single “Never” last week featuring latin-pop singer Sofía Reyes. Awgust is creating his own sound with a mixture of pop and R&B with a spanish twist that’s going to take his career to new heights.
The Philly-born, Texas-raised and now Los Angeles based singer is not new to the music scene, being in the band Midnight Red, before taking on his own solo career. After the band ended, he began working with Reyes on her single “R.I.P” and “Idiota,” earning attention from producers and record labels including the likes of Tommy Mottola, Tainy and Republic Records.
“Never” is the perfect goodbye single to an ending relationship with the perfect mix of Awgust and Reyes’ english and spanish harmonies. Along with his debut single, Awgust released a pleasing music video with shots in old, run-down house along with close shots of Reyes in the bathtub of a bathroom filled with greenery. Throughout the video, it shows Awgust and Reyes getting along, in the bath together, but also fighting in other parts that perfectly tell the story of “Never.” In only a week the video already has over 40,000 views.
With over 70 thousand followers on Twitter, 40 thousand on Instagram, and already over 100 thousand streams, along with making the Latin Pop Rising, Future Hits: Latin, and cover of Viral Latino Spotify Playlists, Awgust surely has a successful career ahead of him in both the english and spanish pop industries.
His debut single is absolve on all streaming platforms and can be downloaded here and be sure to follow Awgust on Twitter and Instagram to see what else is in store for this rising artist.
