Taylor Jenkins Reid’s popular novel “Daisy Jones and The Six” is hitting television screens on March 3rd, 2023 along with an original album, Aurora.
To add to the excitement, the show will be accompanied by the fictional band’s hit record, Aurora, which will premiere at the same time. Aurora has 11 tracks, with the lead single “Regret Me” released on January 25th.
TJR’s take on the arena-rock era details the story of Daisy Jones and The Six through their early days of rising fame to their untimely breakup. In the novel, Reid includes snippets of original lyrics from the band’s masterpiece album, Aurora. Based on the time period, Aurora is guaranteed to give fans a nostalgic listening experience that culminates both the liberation and the heartbreak of 70s rock n roll.
In the spirit of transporting audiences back to the 70s both visually and sonically, Reid pulled inspiration from the iconic story and sound of Fleetwood Mac. For the show, which began filming in late 2021, the cast not only prepared to take on these beloved characters, but they also had to become a real band. The leading lady, Riley Keough (Elvis Presley’s granddaughter) and her castmates, including Suki Waterhouse and Sam Claflin, had to learn each of their instruments with little to no experience.
The songwriting credits on Aurora are stacked. With artists like Blake Mills, Phoebe Bridgers, Madison Cunningham, Marcus Mumford, Jackson Browne and more, the album is sure to be stunning.
The Aurora tracklist is:
- “Aurora”
- “Let Me Down Easy”
- “Kill You To Try”
- “Two Against Three”
- “Look At Us Now (Honeycomb)”
- “Regret Me”
- “You Were Gone”
- “More Fun To Miss”
- “Please”
- “The River”
- “No Words”
