1. Can you introduce yourself for people who don’t know you?
Whats up? I’m Chris, I play bass for Vicious.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Vicious is just pure aggressive alternative rock that makes you either want to smash shit or lift heavy shit
3.What are some of your musical influences?
Personally speaking I’m influenced by a lot of nu-metal bands I grew up listening to, like System of a Down, Slipknot, Linkin Park.
4.What about your nonmusical influences?
I’m always influenced by personal experiences in life and struggles I’ve been faced with. Facing hard times is one of the biggest motivators to create an artistic outlet for those emotions you’re feeling.
5. Tell us a little bit about your song “Everything Sucks” and your new music?
Everything Sucks was a song written with a lot of different meanings behind it. The general idea is how we’ve been constantly killing our selves to create music and keep it a part of our lives despite the constant struggles we’ve been faced with. As musicians, we’ve been constantly torn between two lives, between living the normal 9-5 grind and trying to push ourselves as musicians as hard as we can to live our dream. You can expect to hear more lyrics based around the idea of inner and outer conflicts in our upcoming music.
6. What is something you would like to achieve by the end of the year?
By the end of the year, we want to reclaim our hometown in PA. The band is barely a year old so we’ve been working tirelessly to regrow our fan base and network to retake the throne in this area.
7.What is your dream collaboration?
A feature with Chester Bennington (RIP)
8.What is your songwriting process like?
Sam usually starts with a general idea or lyrical hook behind a song idea, maybe a guitar riff or two as well, and then hands it off to Dan and has him do his guitar wizardry to structure it into a song. Once we take it to the studio we all sit down with a producer and fine tune everything to make it as beefy and catchy as we can, with a total “in your face” feel.
9. What do you hope fans get out of your music?
We really just want fans to be able to relate to our lyrics and feel like we can be the voice for the unheard.
10.What is a song you wish you wrote and why?
“Lying From You” by Linkin Park off of Meteora is probably my favorite song by them and if I even wrote a song that was half as catchy and in your face as that, I’d feel pretty good about it.
11.Coffee or tea?
Coffee for sure. My blood is composed of 45% coffee
12. Current obsession song?
I can’t stop jamming “Plain Jane” by A$AP Ferg. I’ll admit I’m super into trap music
13. Favorite T.V. show?
Stranger Things, because fuck yeah
14. Song you wish you wrote?
Again, if I wrote “Lying From You” by Linkin Park, that’d be pretty tight
15. Ocean or Pool?
Ocean. I grew up by the ocean and it’s always in my heart
