“There are some artists here I grew up listening to, like Björk, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, mum, Portishead, Röyksopp, Bat for Lashes, Damien Rice, Emiliana Torrini, The Beatles, Jeff Buckley and Kings Of Convenience… Björk’s “Unravel” is one of the most beautiful songs in the world, in my opinion, and her “Pagan Poetry” is pretty much why I wanted to get more into Electronica. I get all my ambient sound inspirations from Sigur Ros (and Jonsi). I think Portishead’s “Dummy” is absolutely iconic- I don’t even know how many times I listened to it at this point. Same goes for the Jeff Buckley album, “Grace”. Then there are some new artists I’m fascinated by. Flume is currently at the top of that list, along with Grimes and ODESZA. HANA, I think, is bringing the 90s Electronica vibes back to life with her contemporary sound- been obsessed with “Underwater” since the first time I heard it. I discovered Chase & Status back in 2011 when I spent the summer in London – a friend I made there showed their album “No More Idols” to me and I’m still not sick of it today. All the other tracks by other artists I included here are songs that stuck with me due to the production ideas they were planting in my head since first listen- like FKA twigs’s “In Time” and “This Isn’t You” from the Stranger Things soundtrack album.”
