This week’s artist spotlight goes to the one and only Jake Miller.
For those of you who don’t know, Jake is a two time BTS cover star, and an incredible musician / producer. As of recently he is an amazing Tik Tok dancer. Jake got his start in music back in 2012 and has been touring and creating songs ever since. If you’re a fan of pop music with a little bit of rap you’ll love Jake Miller!
Jake has toured across the world, released an insane amount of music. He grew up with fans who have been there since the start of his career. Miller released his debut EP Spotlight in 2012, and set out on his first tour “The Miller High Life Tour”. He then released another EP titled The Road Less Traveled. With success from both EP’s it was time for him to release his debut album Us Against Them which he released November 2013. He then embarked on a nationwide tour to support the album.
The Millertary
Miller had a huge following, his fans began to call themselves “The Millertary”. That soon stuck and fans began wearing camo to every show in every city on tour, even gifting Jake with camo designed clothing and artwork. At one point he even had his tour bus wrapped in a camo covering which fans obsessed over! If we could describe his fans as anything, we would describe them as dedicated. Some of the fans wait for hours in line at his shows just for the chance to be front row. We know one thing, he puts on an incredible live show. His fans are so loyal and dedicated, many even have his lyrics tattooed on them. A lot of them credit Jake Miller for getting them through dark times.
Never Slowed Down
Following his nationwide tour and the release of his debut album, Jake released another EP in 2014, titled Dazed and Confused. Jake then announced what would be the most epic tour , which was the Dazed and Confused tour in 2015. Jake surprised fans on the first night of tour when he let them all know that his fourth EP Rumors would be released the same day! Rumors closed with a track titled “Sunshine” which was about Jake’s childhood best friend who unfortunately lost his life to suicide. He donated all the proceeds to the Dylan Schopp Sunshine Foundation and for youth suicide awareness. He worked so hard to tour and continue to put out music for his fans.
In 2016 Jake Miller released his EP titled Overnight and in 2017 he released his sophomore album 2AM in LA and in March of 2018 he released the album Silver Lining. All his music he released up until this time was a perfect showcase of how much an artist grows and changes not only in age but with the music he creates.
Keeping it Real
Jake took risks. He stepped outside his comfort zone and even produced and recorded his music from the comfort of his bedroom. That music turned out to be some of his best work. In 2019 two more EPs were released, Based on A True Story and SUMMER 19. Each of those EPs really highlighted Jake’s ability to create meaningful music that you can relate to and enjoy. His music has always been honest, raw and real and that is what makes him great. In 2020 he released his debut single “Saved Me” and we are obsessed with this new Era of Jake Miller and can’t wait to see what the rest of his music will sound like.
Jake is a very talented, down to earth artist and we are very proud of all his accomplishments. He has grown as a person and an artist. Be sure to follow him on social media to stay up to date with new music. Follow him on Tik Tok as well to see his amazing dance skills. You can download his new single “Saved Me” here.
