Artist of the Week: Rival Summers – Songs That Influence Us

Today, we bring you part two of Rival Summers Artist of the Week feature. Read below to learn about the music that influenced their newest release.

Music is such a unique medium for expression in that a song in and of itself can be reconsidered beautiful and meaningful, but it’s when songs become the soundtrack to specific moments in our lives that they take on new meaning.

Our trip to California to record our newest full length album was a dream come true; getting to share special and unforgettable moments with some of our dearest friends and biggest inspirations while creating art that means the world to us.

From Michigan to Chicago to San Francisco, all the way down the PCH to West Hollywood, to San Diego and then all the way back home. The songs on this playlist were the soundtrack from this adventure, on repeat in our cars and forever taking us back to that space in time where the world was wide open and nothing could stop us.

Special thanks to Ashley Osborn, Jesse Barrera, Grace Magapacal, and all the new friends we made out in California that made this trip so special. And to all the friends who made this new album possible, we couldn’t have done this without you and we can’t wait to share our new songs with you soon.
