Cady Groves is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Marlow, Oklahoma. Though initially Groves attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Arizona, she decided to follow her dream of having a music career. Though she began her career interested in songwriting, in 2009, she released her independent EP, A Month of Sundays. After her 2010 album The Life of a Pirate started to gain success, she signed with RCA Records.
While signed with RCA, Groves worked with different producers and songwriters for her first major-label album. She released track “This Little Girl” in 2011 the This Little Girl EP in 2012. The full album was never released, and Groves eventually left RCA Records. She returned to music in 2015, when she released her EP Dreams October 2.

Beyond The Stage: What’s a song that’s on the radio that you always find yourself singing?
Cady Groves: I will always sing to an old country song, any one of them. It’s where my heart is!
BTS: What’s your favorite part of touring?
CG: My favorite part of touring Is the couple of hours a day you get with the fans. I basically could live without the other 22 hours of traveling and sleeping haha
BTS: What are your must haves on tour?
CG: On tour I need to have an organized suitcase or I go nuts. It’s extremely stressful to not know where something is when you’re packing your entire life into 40 pounds of crap on wheels!!
BTS: What’s your favorite song off of your new EP?
CG: It’s extremely hard to pick just one favorite because they all have such a huge story behind them. But I am very partial to the slow, sad vibe of oil & water!
BTS: You’re really close with your fans, why is your relationship with them so important?
CG: I just love my fans because I feel like we are figuring out the world together, and they trust me enough to speak for the group with my music and that means so much.
BTS: What’s your favorite city to visit on tour?
CG: I love any city in Texas! I don’t know why they just go hard at shows and they are so nice!
BTS: If you found a magic lamp and a genie gave you 3 wishes, what would they be?
CG: Thinking about getting three wishes for free with no consequences makes me super skeptical haha …I’m in the MUSIC business remember?!
BTS: If you played another genre of music, what would it be and why?
CG: I would make a county album in a second. It’s not that I can’t…it’s that that is what everyone wants me to do and it’s what would be easier for me. I want to challenge myself to go outside of the box and tape a new box around just myself.
BTS: If you could switch places with someone for a day who would it be?
CG: I’m pretty good being me. Weird.
BTS: If you got to sit next to someone (dead or alive) on an airplane, who would it be?
CG: I wanna sit next to John Stamos on a plane and I want him to tell me I’m pretty.
