This morning, Ariana Grande released her newest single “Positions” from her upcoming album. It was accompanied by a music video directed by Dan Meyers, which included Grande as the President of the Unites States with a mostly female team.
See the music video below.
Prior to its release, Grande got fans excited with one very simple, but exciting tweet. On October 14, she tweeted “i can’t wait to give u my album this month.” It caused a frenzy on the internet, racking up 1.2 million likes and over 364 thousand retweets and quote tweets. The random announcement even left MTV and Spotify and fellow artists stunned and excited.

After going radio silent on Twitter for three days following the announcement, she shared an ambiguous video of her typing positions on a keyboard across her socials. At the time, no one knew if “positions” was an album or song title.
See the video below.
Following that day, Grande didn’t share any more information on release date or what “positions” was until this past Wednesday. She then shared that it was dropping Friday at midnight with a pre-save link and single cover.

After its release at midnight, it is already number two on the iTunes top 100 song chart in the United States and 15 other countries. It is number one in 31 countries including the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Ireland.
The music video is number one on iTunes in the US and has already amassed over eight million views on YouTube, making it number two on the YouTube “Trending” list.
In regards to the rest of the album, we know two things. There’s only eight more days left in the month, meaning we’re getting a new queen Ari album so soon! This will be her fourth album in under 3 years. She has not rested and is giving her Arianators what they want and need in 2020!
UPDATE 10/23: Grande announced that Positions the album will be dropping on Friday, October 30. See the announcement below and make sure to pre-save here.
