1. Can you introduce yourself to those who may not know you?
This is Jonathan and Joey from the band Nightly!
2. How would you describe your music to people who have never heard it before?
An alt-pop band. I’ve always thought of it as good music to drive to at night.
3. What are you looking forward to most for the rest of 2018?
Releasing new music!
4. Who are your musical influences?
– The Killers and u2
5. What about nonmusical influences?
As corny as it sounds probably traveling to different cities and meeting fans. they inspire us.
6. If you could collaborate with any musician, who would it be and why?
-There’s so many that would be cool it’s hard to choose! Maybe Kendrick Lamar or NF.
7. What do you hope fans get from your music?
-Just that they feel something. whether it’s sad/happy/like dancing/or that they can relate to the song we just hope they feel something.
8. What can you tell us about your new single?
Our new single is called s.t.a.y. and stands for still think about you. The acronym being another word felt cool, so we left the title like that. It’s definitely one of our favorites to play live. It’s probably the most “nightly” sounding song we’ve released yet ha.
9. You guys are known for your live performances, can you tell us a little bit about your live performance?
We have fun at our shows, and we put a lot of energy into making them the best we can. We want the shows to be an entire experience, so we program our own lights and try to bring people into our own little universe for an hour or so each night at the shows. Really though the fans bring the energy.
10. What is something that you’ve accomplished so far in your career that you are most proud of?
maybe selling out our hometown show and singing with a room full of nightly fans. our fans are the best.
11. What is your go-to drink from a coffee shop?
Joey’s is an iced americano. I’m [Jonathan] lame and don’t drink caffeine anymore.
12. What is your current favorite song?
“Nights” – Frank Ocean.
13. What was the first concert you went to?
A guy named Phil Keagy.
14. What is your favorite movie?
Jonathan – Dumb and Dumber, or Johnny English.
Joey – Empire Strikes Back.
15. If you could create your dream tour, who would be on the lineup?
U2 x Lady Gaga x Nightly haha.
