Alec Benjamin shared the music video for his next single “If I Killed Someone For You” this morning. The song is taken from Benjamin’s first project, Narrated For You, which was released in the fall via Atlantic Records. In “If I Killed Someone For You,” Benjamin details the feeling of needing to change yourself for someone you love. It’s one of the darker songs on Narrated For You, but it really showcases his talent as a songwriter.
The video itself was directed by Christian Lanza, and perfectly captures the story that the song tells. It shows Benjamin running around a truck stop in the middle of nowhere with a girl. He took to Instagram this afternoon, sharing that it was a very difficult video for him to film because he usually doesn’t like playing characters (even though he managed to pull it off pretty well in this video).
In a matter of weeks, Benjamin will embark on a headlining tour across the U.S., which has almost entirely sold-out. The Outrunning Karma tour will kick off on March 29th in San Francisco, CA, and will include stops in New York City, Chicago, and more. Head over to his website for ticket info!
