Brooklyn based band Komodos just released their debut edgy single titled “Narcisse” – a sucker punch. It’s chaotic and full of tension, enhancing the lyrics with every chord.
The song is an ode to the people of New York who are buried in their phones and prioritize the façade of social media over their true authentic selves. Adding that edge to the song, we hear hard-hitting drums and an intense bassline that’ll leave you bopping along.
This is only the start for Komodos. With an EP titled K.O. on the way, the band has encapsulated the ups and downs of living in New York City and packaged it for listeners to feel and resonate with. A hint of old school rock & roll with a modern twist, Komodos gives us angsty music that serves as an adrenaline rush.
The project was recorded live in the band’s apartment studio – mixed and mastered by LA-based producer and former drummer of Lewis Del Mar, Max Harwood. The band practically lives together and does just about everything as a whole. Komodos only formed in 2022, and is composed of Gabriel Altopp (guitar), Hunter Boivin (guitar), Ben Baumann (bass), Kabir Dugal (drums), and Taran Dugal (vocals).
The quintet plans to takeover NYC, on their campaign from Lower East Side stages to Queens, and everything in between. Komodos is headlining the infamous Mercury Lounge this August. Their live shows are something you won’t want to miss with dynamic vibes, heavy distortion, and rockin’ energy.
