If you’ve never heard of the show, CMT Crossroads, then you are missing out on some amazing duets.
The CMT program, which has been on the air since 2002, is centered around country music artists pairing with artists from other genres and performing each other’s songs live. Throughout the history, famous artists such as Brad Paisley, Elton John, Kacey Musgraves, John Legend and more have come on the program to perform.
As live music events have been put to a halt, for the time being, we decided to bring you a list of some of the best Crossroads performances in recent memory. Get ready for some surprises. Let’s go!
“Colder Weather” – Zac Brown Band & Shawn Mendes
Shawn Mendes connects with Zac Brown Band for an emotional performance of “Colder Weather.” Both artists showcase their rich vocals, passionately hitting all the right notes and effectively pulling on our heartstrings. Is someone cutting onions right now?
“I Want It That Way” – Backstreet Boys & Florida Georgia Line
This is the duet we never thought we needed. Backstreet Boys and Florida Georgia Line take us all the way back with their stellar performance of “I Want It That Way,” giving us all the 90s feels right now. We just can’t help but sing along to this iconic hit.
“I’ll Make Love To You” – Boyz II Men & Brett Young
We all know how great Boyz II Men is, but Brett Young absolutely holds his own and knocks it out the park (pun intended) in this R&B love ballad. These two artists stole our hearts with their lively performance of “I’ll Make Love To You,” just in time for Valentine’s. Dang, is it getting hot in here?
“Beautiful Crazy” – Luke Combs & Leon Bridges
If you didn’t know who Leon Bridges was before this, then you definitely will now. Luke Combs and Bridges’s voices weave together so effortlessly on their performance of “Beautiful Crazy.” Both of them sound smooth as silk. It’s easy to see how soul and country go hand in hand. Seriously, someone needs to stop cutting these onions.
“Trumpets” – Jason Derulo & Luke Bryan
Jason Derulo and Luke Bryan absolutely light up the Crossroads stage with their performance of “Trumpets.” The two stars are as harmonic as the instrument they’re singing about. They have tremendous chemistry and they feed off of each other’s energy, making for a fun and entertaining experience.
“If I Ain’t Got You” – Alicia Keys & Maren Morris
Hearing these two powerhouse vocalists harmonize together on R&B classic “If I Ain’t Got You” is pure heaven. They sing with such passion and emotion. It’s truly captivating. Dear Alicia Keys and Maren Morris, we’re going to need a studio version of this, right now. Thank you.
“Without Me” – Halsey & Kelsea Ballerini
The perfect collab doesn’t exi—
Our September 2017 cover artist, Kelsea Ballerini, teams up with the new mom to be for a spectacular performance of Halsey’s hit song, “Without Me.” BUT wait, there’s more. Eight more actually. You can watch their full Crossroads episode and catch all NINE of their performances here.
The official CMT Crossroads YouTube channel is still young, having opened in 2019. There are still years and years of collaborations that are not yet available on their channel. But you can stay up to date whenever they do upload new videos here.
We know we’re all missing the concert and festival life, but we will all be back together soon enough. So for now, we hope these Crossroads clips will help to soothe your musical needs.
