On a gorgeous Sunday night, Fitz and The Tantrums gave Portland’s Edgefield Amphitheater a perfect return to live music. For many in attendance, this was their first concert since before the pandemic; the excitement was palpable, and the highly-energetic Fitz and The Tantrums had the crowd buzzing. The alternative-pop band has been releasing music for over a decade with a number of instantly recognizable hits like “Out of My League”, “The Walker”, and of course, “HandClap” in their discography.
From the second the band walked out, you could tell how happy they were to be back on stage. The music started, the crowd cheered, and band members Michael Fitzpatrick aka Fitz, Noelle Scaggs, Joe Karnes, James King, Jeremy Ruzumna, and John Wicks went from danceable pop jam to danceable pop jam. Their energy infected the crowd and had attendees of all ages dancing like crazy, song after song. It was the return to live music that so many had been craving, and Fitz and The Tantrums made it a night to remember.
