Have you ever felt so confident in yourself that even if things aren’t perfect, you’re having a great time living in the moment? That feeling is exactly what alternative rock band Livingmore has embodied on its newly-released single “Got Me Feelin’ Like.”
The accompanying video offers fun, fashion and a rhinestone-clad cowboy. Obviously, we were sucked in right away and needed to know more about this band, so here’s three things you need to know, too.
1. Livingmore is Dropping A New Album in May
The band’s sophomore full-length studio album, Take Me, comes out Friday, May 21st via Nomad Eel Records. Take Me will be available digitally and on CD and opaque turquoise vinyl, which deserves all the style points.
The album features glossy guitar solos, upbeat keys and packs a punch with its rock anthems.
2. The Band is Based in Los Angeles
Livingmore began in 2014 in sunny California when Alex Moore and Spencer Livingston began collaborating while bonding over a shared taste in music, including: Garbage, The Hives, Roy Orbison, Modest Mouse, Wilco, Radiohead, The Cure, The Smiths, and more.
As the duo continued to write, Mike Schadel and Rodrigo Moreno eventually joined the group and dropped the first self-titled EP, Livingmore in 2015, which gained a ton of traction online.
The band started playing shows and gave a performance at SXSW, releasing their first full-length album, OK To Land, in 2018. Since then, Livingmore has independently gained over 2 million total streams.
3. Livingmore is a Female-Fronted Powerhouse
Moore leads the band on vocals, harmonizing with the groovy electric guitars and adding a whimsical quality to each song. Moore also is able to get involved in the creative process of creating visuals for the new tracks as well. “Got Me Feelin’ Like” tells the story of a larger-than-life “rhinestone cowboy” character envisioned by Moore and featured in the song’s official music video.
“‘Got Me Feelin’ Like’ has to do with someone being drunk off their own ego and nothing can ruin their time, even though their life isn’t where they want it to be today – it doesn’t matter!” says Moore. “The video is very much a direct representation of what the song is lyrically about. I enjoy mixing reality with fantasy. Daydreams are sometimes grander than where we’re actually standing.”
