Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley and Cam announced the nominations for the 2016 50th annual CMA Awards on Good Morning America live from the Grand Ole Opry stage on Wednesday. Some of country’s biggest stars are smiling wide at all the nominations received.
Leading the pack with five nominations each is Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and country newcomer, Maren Morris. Each have five nominations, including Album of the Year for Church and Morris and Entertainer of the Year for Stapleton.
The competition gets more fierce as Dierks Bentley, Cam, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood all compete with 4 nominations each. Underwood and Urban are both in the running for Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year and are up for Musical Event of the Year together for their duet ‘The Fighter,’ featured on Urban’s CMA nominated album Ripcord. Bentley and Cam are both nominated for Music Video of the Year.
