Country music continues to top the charts and that’s because even people who HATE country are listening along with the die-hard fans. We all know there are those country songs out there that we just can’t shake, even if we try. Whether we’re constantly hearing them on TikTok or we find ourselves actually adding them to our playlist, they end up on repeat in our heads.
Here are 10 country songs that are perfect for people who don’t like country!
1. Throw It Back – BRELAND (feat. Keith Urban)
If you’re sexy and you know it, this is the right song for you! BRELAND and Keith Urban DELIVERED with this total hip hop beat meets country guitar and vocals banger. Perfect for pregames and taking a shot of whiskey, this song needs to be added to your weekend playlist.
2. I Hope – Gabby Barrett
Possibly the biggest cheating song since Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats”, “I Hope” tells cheaters how we really feel. Instead of feeding into the sadness many feel from being cheated on, Gabby Barrett takes on a more vindictive approach, and we love it! The honesty behind her words makes the song relatable and makes us feel less bad for wanting karma to do its thing.
3. Lil Bit – Nelly (feat. Florida Georgia Line)
The early 2000s are back…or at least they feel like it with Nelly taking over the music scene once again! Just like the previous Nelly and Florida Georgia Line collaboration “Cruise”, this song captures the excitement of showing someone around the country.
4. GOOD TIME – Niko Moon
Despite its country twang, “Good Time” really is the perfect song for people who aren’t very big country music fans. It has a guitar-led beat that picks up at the chorus, making for a head-bobbing and yelling the lyrics kind of vibe. Make sure to especially save this song for fast-approaching fall bonfire season!
5. MAGIC CITY COWBOY – Jamie Ray
If it weren’t for the country twang in Jamie Ray’s voice on this song, it probably wouldn’t be on this list because it wouldn’t really be country. Like the rest of his music “MAGIC CITY COWBOY” fits in the hip-hop genre, but it has an upbeat chorus that helps it blend into the country-pop genre, as well. The mix of the three styles makes for the best opening song for your newest playlist!
6. Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home) – Elle King & Miranda Lambert
Looking for the perfect song to end girls’ night out without ending girls’ night out? THIS IS IT! When you’re really just too drunk and don’t wanna go home, but it’s closing time at the bar, get this song cued up to keep the good times rolling at the afterparty!
7. Fancy Like – Walker Hayes
What started as just another TikTok sensation, including a viral video with Shaq at none other than Applebee’s, has turned into a summer car ride must play! It’s fun and simple accompanying dance created by Walker Hayes and his daughters has taken some usually not-so-country fans straight to the south.
8. If I Didn’t Love You – Jason Aldean & Carrie Underwood
You know that feeling of loving someone who you know is bad for you? Well, this heartwrenching song puts those feelings into words. If you need a good ole cry, play this song and we promise the tears will start rolling. Say hello to the newest addition of your sad vibes playlist!
9. Happy Anywhere – Blake Shelton (feat. Gwen Stefani)
One of our favorite celebrity couples, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani know how to make the perfect country song to top the charts. Its loving words make it hard to not smile and hope someone feels this way about you. You really could be ‘happy anywhere’ when this song comes on!
10. Bachelorettes on Broadway – Willie Jones
We all know Nashville has become the newest bachelorette party hot spot, and this song makes it feel like you’re right there with them. Before hitting the streets of Broadway (or at least pretending to) sing along to this song with the girls while your Uber internally hopes you’ll stop. It’s the perfect song to play to make every day feel like Friday!
Even if you aren’t the biggest country music fan, these songs might find their way to your daily plays. So, next time you’re creating a playlist, getting ready, or meeting with your friends, don’t count out country music!
